Reproductor M9702 (Clon Oppo UDP-203 - Chinoppo)

For anyone having problems using SMB server, I solved in that easy way:
1) Activate SMB1 on Windows ( google it )
2) Go on settings ---> Net ---> Sharing, and activate all settings about individuation on the net ( I don't know how is called in Spanish but it should be easy to get )
3) Just right click on something you want to share with the m9702, even an entire HDD containing files, and press "Give access to"---> everyone
4) IMPORTANT: if you use a Microsoft account, just create a local account with a password and use it
5) From the m9702 you should see the PC with "images, music, videos", just click the one you need and than you have to insert the Username and Password of the local account created before. You won't need to put everytime these informations because you can save them
6) In this way you don't have to rename AVCHD, use programs ecc, just clicking the backup folder ( no difference if 2160p or 1080p ) and enjoy

This little guide works on the latest windows build.

One question: anyone tried if the image quality is the same using an external HDD or using the net?

As I have explained before, in addition to all this, if your media server is Windows 10 it is necessary that on the network there is an additional node that is not Windows 10, for the "SMB Browsing" to work. For example, another player (Dune Solo), a NAS, another PC with Windows 7 / XP or whatever other machine that is NOT Windows 10 and have SMB software activated.

If not, the Chinoppo/ Oppo 203 does not discover the SMB shares of a single Windows 10 on the network. If that is your case, use NFS instead (winnfsd).

Actually I use a single Windows 10, and the m9702 is seeing without problems the shared folders, without any additinal nodes.

Nice to know. You are lucky.

I have read that information on other specialised forums. And I have suffered that by myself.

I have two installations in two Houses with different networks and two different Chinoppo units. In both cases, when I have the "additional nodes" down (NAS, Dune Solo 4K) I enter the "NETWORK" menu in the Chinoppo and it does not discover my Windows 10 Server. Reboot, reset, etc and nothing changes. When I start the "other nodes", just immediately the Chinoppo discover my Windows 10 server and then I can navigate through its shares.

From the chinoppo I go on "network" and appear 2 things: modem and "pcdesktopX", I click on pc, appears "music\video\image", click on video, and I can access all shared folders ( I shared entire HDD so I see them ). I don't know if the modem\router itself acts as a node, I activated "samba sharing" on router's settings.

Then I think that modem/router is your additional node, not Windows 10, for this to work.

If you are wishful enough, you could deactivate "samba sharing" in your modem/router and then see if chinoppo can discover your Windows 10 shares. If it does not, then that will confirm my explanation.

I'll try later and tell you. Anyway my modem\router is really basic, I guess everyone could do it if this is the reason.

Buenas!

Prueba a poner DV brillo,a ver.

Hi, my player has arrived today but I have a problem. I have dozens of external HDD: WD 2TB, Lacie 6TB, Lacie 8TB. The 6\8TB versions have an external supply. The 8TB version isn't recognized, making it MBR or GPT makes no difference. The others work flawlessly. What should I try?
I have an external Seagate 8tb barracuda and no problem.

Maybe format it in NTFS or FAT
If your TV recognizes your 8TB (mine, yes). Try to network your TV and the MV9702, in addition activate the network link parameter (home network server) of your TV which should be recognized by the M9702 (in the network choice of the home page) then your disk should appear.
